18th February – A walk to the source of the River Cale – Penselwood
17th March – Coppicing & Pollarding at Wincanton Beach (and creation of hibernaculums)
22nd March – Public talk in Salisbury guildhall as part of the River Avon celebrations
22nd April – Completion of the painting of Hawker’s bridge in South Street by CATCH & volunteers
4th May – 1st ‘Kick sample’ of the 2018 season
5th May – Victorian Bridge ‘rock berm’ re-planting and maintenance day.
13th May – Wincanton annual ‘duck race’ attendance, along with river clearance prior to the event.
17th June – Joint event with local art & crafts workshop in the High Street (The Bootmakers) – with over 40 plaques made by the children of the town.
1st July – 2nd ‘kick sample’ of the 2018 season.
13th July – ‘Kick sample’ training session & learning event with Our Ladies School
23rd & 30th July – Wild Flower Meadow scything & raking event
27th July – 3rd ‘Kick sample’ of the 2018 season
2nd August – ‘Balsam Bashing’ through the recreation ground
21st August – Evening task, removing a bicycle from the River Cale…..
25th August – 4th ‘Kick sample’ of the 2018 season.
8th September – Natural ‘Rock flow deflectors’ check and re-arrangement (behind the Travis Perkins yard.
7th, 10th, & 13th September – Talk to three separate local schools in relation to micro-plastics in watercourses, and metaldahide affecting water quality.
23rd September – MORPH survey of the River Cale.
26th September – Fallen tree removal from the river
29th September – Litter pick between A303 and Sewage works.
4th October – Memorial Meadow scything of nettles and tidy up – preparation for winter.
7th October – CATCH kit storage unit reviewed and re-organised
10th October – 5th ‘Kick sample’ of the year.
16th October – 6th ‘Kick sample’ of the year.
