C.A.T.C.H., in conjunction with the town’s Recreation Ground working group are holding an event on Saturday 25th April from 10am at the town’s recreation ground to sow seeds for a Memorial Wildlife Meadow. The meadow is being created to serve as an area for all to visit, enjoy nature and also to remember all those who played a part in two World Wars. To that end, included in the wildflower seed mix will be Flanders poppies. The whole community is invited to this event, final soil preparation will commence at 10am and it is planned that the seeds will be sown from 12 noon with as many participating as possible. Light refreshments will also be served.
We will be meeting in the David Sharp Centre from 10am onwards. Suitable footwear is advised – we will be digging up the earth, after all, so expect to get dirty! – and, if you can bring along a rake of your own, it would be appreciated. However you are welcome to come and watch, without being obligated to do any of the heavy work!
